Many years ago I was watching a late night infomercial by one of these "infomercial gurus". He was talking about direct marketing, classified ads and how you can get rich without spending much money. I spent $99.00 on the package & waited with great anticipation for it to arrive. When it did come, I tore through the whole thing waiting for the revelation that would allow me to get rich without doing much work. And you know the rest of the story I'm sure... 

I didn't find the magic bullet that would pave an easy path to fame & riches, so I tossed the books into a closet & kept working away at my day job teaching GED to adults - I think the guy from the infomercial ended up in jail for mail fraud...

But the notion that there was a proven approach to starting a successful home-based business kept working on me until I went back to the manuals & studied them further. I soon went on to buy other programs on creating wealth & realized, along with a million other people, that the Internet was becoming a monster wealth builder. 

In 1999, I founded Mikkema International Inc. and started to establish myself on the web. Since then I have launched several successful websites using dropshipping, selling e-goods, and providing web services.

Of course, there is a learning curve where you have to put the time in, but once you "get it", it can be repeated over & over again with different products/services (reselling tangible & digital products from your own website and ebay).

while most people are stuck in the 9 to 5 grind, day after day... I recently spent a month in Florida with the whole family. I would have never been able to do this if I were still working a traditional job. But my Internet businesses just kept chugging away 24x7 - they not only paid for the vacation: they also kept earning while we were away! 

That's one of the amazing things about an Internet business: with a portable laptop computer, you can run it from practically anywhere! Plug-in for a couple of hours from your hotel or a rented beachside cottage, check your emails and your online orders, then head off to the beach or wherever you want while your ebiz just keeps earning. Of course it's not all fun & games; you do have to put in the time to grow your business. But the freedom, flexibility, financial rewards, and the control over your time make an ebiz so much better than most traditional jobs.

      

I can honestly tell you that since I started my Internet businesses from home then quit my job, my life has been incredible! 

It's not so much about the money - we're comfortable but not rich by any means. It's about having the freedom to really enjoy life. My wife, Louise, & I often talk about how lucky we are to have the time to devote to the things we love. We spend a lot of time with our kids, our extended family, going to the beach or just relaxing with friends. 

I'm sure you know what it's like having to rush around just to keep all the plates spinning - rush through breakfast, get the kids off to school/daycare, put in a hard day at work, pick up the kids, grab a quick supper, do the dishes, help with homework, do the laundry, watch TV, go to bed, then do it all over again the next day. It feels like life is passing you by and you have almost no control over it... 

Now we're able to stop all that and just breath: everything has slowed down so that we can actually enjoy what's going on around us. That's so hard to do when you're working long hours at a job even when you actually like your work. It's almost unbearable when you dislike it or the job pays you too little to make ends meet.

The bottom line is that anyone with the will to succeed & the right information can make money on the web. Now is a time of incredible opportunity which allows a single person working from their own home to create a business which generates positive cash flow from day one with almost zero startup costs.  The fact that I do business with people all over North America is proof that no matter what your background or your location, you can succeed. From my home in eastern Canada, I operate websites that are seen around the world.  

DISCLAIMER -  do not quit your job to start an Internet business.  I only did this once I had sufficient revenue coming in.
